Wordpress Backend Developer

About the Role :

We are looking for a skilled and motivated WordPress Backend Developer with 2-4 years of hands-on experience to join our growing development team. If you're passionate about clean code, scalable architecture, and delivering high-performance WordPress solutions, we want to hear from you. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys building custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements.

- Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.

- Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing WordPress websites and plugins.

- Optimize website performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.

- Collaborate closely with designers, front-end developers, and project managers to deliver high-quality products.

- Stay current with the latest WordPress core updates, plugin architecture, and development best practices.

- Ensure adherence to coding standards and participate in regular code reviews.

- Work with version control systems like Git and follow Agile methodologies for project management.

- Maintain and support WooCommerce-based eCommerce websites, ensuring secure and scalable performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 2 to 4 years of experience working as a WordPress Developer (Backend-focused).

- Proven experience in custom theme and plugin development from scratch.

- Strong command over PHP, AJAX, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.

- Deep understanding of WordPress core, theme hierarchy, hooks (actions & filters), and custom post types.

- Experience with WooCommerce integration and customization.

- Familiarity with version control (Git) and working in a collaborative development environment.

- Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.

Nice to Have :

- Experience with REST API integration in WordPress.

- Knowledge of page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, etc.

- Understanding of SEO best practices in WordPress.
