Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

- Design and define scalable, secure, and high-performance Web3 / blockchain architectures aligned with business and product requirements.

- Lead the architecture and technical design of decentralized applications (dApps), smart contracts, blockchain protocols, wallets, token ecosystems, and Web3 infrastructure.

- Evaluate and select appropriate blockchain networks and technologies such as Ethereum, EVM-compatible chains, Layer 2s, Solana, Cosmos, or other emerging protocols.

- Define architecture patterns for on-chain and off-chain components, APIs, microservices, databases, event-driven systems, and blockchain integrations.

- Lead smart contract architecture, development standards, upgradeability, interoperability, and security practices.

- Collaborate with engineering, product, security, DevOps, and business teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Establish technical standards, coding guidelines, architecture principles, and best practices across Web3 engineering teams.

- Review and provide technical direction on smart contracts, blockchain integrations, APIs, system designs, and infrastructure.

- Identify and mitigate risks related to smart contract vulnerabilities, key management, transaction security, scalability, gas optimization, and blockchain reliability.

- Drive integration with wallets, exchanges, custodians, oracles, bridges, indexing platforms, and third-party Web3 services where required.

- Evaluate emerging technologies including DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, tokenization/RWA, zero-knowledge proofs, account abstraction, Layer 2, and cross-chain interoperability.

- Work closely with security teams on threat modelling, smart contract audits, penetration testing, and security architecture.

- Guide engineering teams through architecture decisions and complex technical challenges.

- Conduct PoCs and technology evaluations to validate new blockchain technologies and architectural approaches.

- Ensure systems meet requirements for scalability, availability, observability, maintainability, compliance, and cost efficiency.

- Stay current with developments in blockchain protocols, Web3 infrastructure, cryptography, and decentralized technologies.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- 5 - 10 years of overall software engineering experience, with significant experience in Blockchain / Web3 technologies.

- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade blockchain or Web3 architectures.

- Strong understanding of Ethereum and EVM architecture, blockchain fundamentals, consensus mechanisms, transactions, gas, nodes, and smart contracts.

- Strong hands-on experience with Solidity and smart contract development.

- Experience with one or more additional blockchain technologies such as Rust, Go, Solana, Cosmos, Substrate, Layer 2s, or ZK technologies is highly desirable.

- Strong understanding of smart contract security, common vulnerabilities, upgradeability patterns, access control, reentrancy, oracle risks, and gas optimization.

- Experience designing on-chain/off-chain architectures, APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed systems.

- Experience integrating wallets, exchanges, custodians, oracles, blockchain nodes, indexers, bridges, and Web3 APIs.

- Strong understanding of cryptography, public/private keys, digital signatures, hashing, Merkle trees, and blockchain security concepts.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization/orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

- Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, distributed systems, databases, APIs, scalability, performance, and system security.

- Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams and making architecture-level technical decisions.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance business requirements, technical complexity, security, and cost.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex blockchain concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
