Virtusa - Senior Lead Engineer - Full Stack Development

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Lead Engineer with strong expertise in Full Stack Development, DevOps, and cloud-based data applications. The role involves leading the design, development, enhancement, and production support of enterprise applications built using React.js, Node.js, Databricks, and AWS, while driving engineering best practices, automation, and team development.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of scalable enterprise web applications.

- Develop responsive and scalable frontend applications using React.js and backend services using Node.js.

- Design and develop robust REST APIs and application services using JavaScript/TypeScript.

- Design and optimize data access and application workloads using Databricks SQL and Delta Lake.

- Provide L2/L3 production support, including incident resolution, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.

- Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, data teams, and cross-functional technology teams to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements.

- Design and manage application deployments through CI/CD pipelines and drive release automation.

- Implement DevOps practices across build, deployment, monitoring, and application lifecycle management.

- Leverage GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development for code development, refactoring, unit-test generation, documentation, and developer productivity.

- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security practices, performance standards, and engineering best practices.

- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance on application development and troubleshooting.

- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, performance optimization, and modernization.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to estimation, planning, and delivery activities.

Requirements :

- 9 - 13 years of overall experience, with 8+ years of hands-on Full Stack Development experience.

- Strong hands-on expertise in React.js and Node.js.

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.

- Hands-on experience developing and integrating REST APIs.

- Strong experience with Databricks SQL and Delta Lake.

- Good hands-on experience with AWS, particularly services such as S3, EC2, IAM, and CloudWatch.

- Strong understanding of Git and GitHub.

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines, such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.

- Mandatory hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot or equivalent AI-assisted development tools.

- Strong experience in L2/L3 production support, incident management, troubleshooting, RCA, and performance optimization.

- Good understanding of DevOps practices, application monitoring, deployment automation, and release management.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

- Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering standards across development teams.
