Virtusa - Full Stack Engineer - Python/React.js

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, FastAPI, and REST API development, along with experience building and deploying applications on Databricks Apps.

The ideal candidate should be capable of leading technical design and development of secure, scalable, production-ready applications integrated with the Databricks Lakehouse platform, including notebooks, SQL Warehouses, Delta Tables, and Lakehouse datasets.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

- Develop scalable and well-documented backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.

- Build secure integrations between frontend applications and backend services.

- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and related security practices.

- Develop and deploy applications using Databricks Apps and integrate them with the Databricks platform.

- Integrate applications with Databricks Notebooks, SQL Warehouses, Delta Tables, and Lakehouse datasets.

- Design application architectures that are scalable, secure, reliable, and optimized for production environments.

- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture and development decisions.

- Develop reusable components, APIs, and integration patterns following engineering best practices.

- Implement and maintain Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines for application development and deployment.

- Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across frontend, backend, and Databricks components.

- Support production deployments and resolve application, API, integration, and platform-related issues.

- Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies, technical documentation, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements :

- 2 - 7 years of experience in software/full-stack development, with 5+ years of overall experience preferred for senior-level profiles.

- Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript/JavaScript.

- Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI.

- Hands-on experience developing and consuming REST APIs.

- Experience implementing OAuth2, JWT, and secure authentication/authorization.

- Hands-on experience building and deploying applications using Databricks Apps.

- Strong understanding of Databricks Notebooks, SQL Warehouses, Delta Tables, and Lakehouse architecture.

- Experience developing secure, scalable, and production-ready applications on the Databricks platform.

- Good understanding of Git, CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, and modern software development practices.

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to lead technical design and development activities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
