About the Role :

PlotPix is building the stack for the world's highest-quality AI video production. We're looking for a Software Development Engineer II - Backend with strong MERN stack fundamentals and a genuine interest in building with AI.

Responsibilities :

- Design and build AI agent architectures and orchestration workflows.

- Work with AI/video generation models, including model experimentation and fine-tuning.

- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and Express.js.

- Design and optimize MongoDB/NoSQL databases, schemas, queries and aggregation pipelines.

- Develop robust APIs for web and mobile applications.

- Write clean, maintainable, efficient and well-tested code.

- Implement authentication, authorization, data validation and API security best practices.

- Optimize backend performance, API response times and database queries.

- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways and external services.

- Debug production issues and proactively improve system reliability and performance.

- Work closely with frontend engineers to define API contracts and build seamless integrations.

- Monitor backend services and troubleshoot issues across development and production environments.

- Contribute to system design, architecture and scalability as the product grows.

- Participate in code reviews and help establish engineering best practices.

Tech Stack :

- Must Have : 2-5 years of professional software development experience, MERN stack (Node.js), JavaScript/TypeScript, MongoDB/NoSQL, REST APIs, React.js, Redis, GCP, Authentication/OAuth.

- Good to Have : AI/LLM APIs, AI agents, model fine-tuning, Docker, CI/CD, AWS, message queues (BullMQ/RabbitMQ), SQL databases, microservices, Flutter.
