About the Role :


Our Client is looking for a Team Lead with deep expertise in WordPress plugin development, PHP, and MySQL to spearhead our product engineering efforts.


This role is perfect for someone who loves building high-impact WordPress solutions from the ground up and is passionate about leading technical teams.


Roles & Responsibilities :


- Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of custom WordPress plugins that power our core products.


- Design and implement scalable backend systems using PHP (7.2+) and MySQL (5.7/8).


- Ensure performance, security, and extensibility of WordPress-based applications.


- Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into robust plugin features.


- Optimize and refactor legacy WordPress codebases for stability and scalability.


- Oversee Linux server management, deployment workflows, and enforce security best practices.


- Guide the team through the full product lifecycle from planning and development to testing and release.


- Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and drive best practices in plugin development.


Requirements :


Qualification & Experience :


- 8+ years of experience in PHP and MySQL, with a strong portfolio of WordPress plugin development.


- Proven experience building, maintaining, and scaling custom WordPress plugins (not just theme customization).


- In-depth knowledge of WordPress core functions, hooks, filters, REST API, and coding standards.


- Experience with WordPress performance tuning, security hardening, and plugin optimization.


- Familiar with Nginx, Apache, shell scripting, and AWS.


- Exposure to HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and modern JS frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React) is a plus.


- Comfortable with Git and collaborative development workflows.


- Proven leadership skills with experience managing development teams and projects
