Role Purpose :

The Senior Software Engineer will be a hands-on engineer within the digital asset engineering team, building and shipping the services that power our blockchain and DeFi products - smart contracts, wallet and transaction services, on-chain/off-chain integrations, and the backend platforms that connect Web3 capabilities to a regulated banking core. You will own features end-to-end, contribute to design decisions, and hold a high bar for code quality, testing, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain production-grade smart contracts and protocol integrations (EVM/Solidity), including testing, deployment, and upgrade workflows.

- Build backend services and APIs (microservices, event-driven architecture) connecting on-chain activity with the bank's core platforms, ledgers, and compliance systems.

- Implement wallet and transaction-orchestration features - signing flows, nonce and gas management, chain indexing, and reconciliation of on-chain data.

- Integrate with DeFi protocols, oracles, and bridges safely, with robust failure handling and monitoring.

- Write clean, well-tested code - unit, integration, and contract testing (Foundry/Hardhat) - and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and observability.

- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions, contributing to architecture decisions within your squad.

- Work closely with Security, Risk, and Compliance to ensure everything shipped meets the bar of a regulated bank.

- Support production systems: participate in on-call rotations, debug incidents, and contribute to root-cause analysis and fixes.

- Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into reliable, scalable solutions.

- Keep current with the Web3 ecosystem - new standards, tooling, and best practices - and share learnings with the team.

Required Experience & Skills :

- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 1 - 2+ years building blockchain, Web3, or DeFi systems (production experience preferred).

- Hands-on smart contract development experience (Solidity/EVM) and familiarity with modern tooling (Foundry, Hardhat).

- Strong backend skills in at least one of: TypeScript/Node.js, Go, Rust, Java/Kotlin, or Python - with solid grounding in distributed systems fundamentals.

- Understanding of wallet infrastructure, transaction signing, and chain indexing; exposure to key management (MPC/HSM/multisig) a plus.

- Working knowledge of DeFi primitives - AMMs, lending, staking, stablecoins, oracles - and their integration considerations.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), containers/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Security-conscious engineering habits: secure coding, thorough testing, and audit-ready contract development.

- Strong ownership and delivery track record as a senior individual contributor within a squad.

- Good communication skills; comfortable collaborating across engineering, product, and control functions.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience in a crypto exchange, Web3 protocol team, or blockchain-focused startup environment.

- Contributions to open-source Web3 projects, hackathons, or personal on-chain projects.

- Prior experience in fintech or regulated financial services.

- Familiarity with account abstraction (ERC-4337), L2s/rollups, or cross-chain messaging.
