Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Python-based test automation, embedded systems, and motor control validation. This role focuses on designing automated test frameworks, validating motor control firmware, developing Python test tools, and ensuring robust system performance for motor-driven products.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain Python-based automated test frameworks for embedded motor control systems.
- Build automation for :
1. Functional, regression, and performance testing
2. Motor parameter validation & characterization
3. Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and system-in-loop (SIL) testing
- Develop custom Python tools for data logging, plotting, signal analysis, and automated reporting.
- Design and execute test strategies for BLDC, PMSM, and ACIM motor control applications.
- Validate control algorithms such as FOC, sensorless estimation, speed/torque loops, and position control.
- Test and analyze PWM, ADC sampling, control loops, current feedback, and communication interfaces.
- Perform real-time system testing using oscilloscopes, current sensors, logic analyzers, and motor test benches.
- Create detailed test plans, test cases, and verification protocols for embedded firmware features.
- Develop automated documentation/report generation pipelines using Python.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results.
- Work closely with firmware, hardware, and motor design teams to reproduce, isolate, and resolve issues.
- Perform root cause analysis using structured debugging and data-driven approaches.
- Support board bring-up, integration tests, and product validation cycles.
- Mentor junior test engineers in automation, embedded testing, and Python development.
- Drive improvements in test coverage, automation maturity, and continuous integration workflows.
- Participate in design reviews and provide testability feedback to embedded and hardware teams.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with :
1. HIL systems (dSPACE, NI, Speedgoat, custom rigs)
2. MATLAB/Simulink for validation
3. Robot Framework or Squish
4. Docker/Jenkins/GitHub Actions for automated testing
- Knowledge of RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
- Background in automotive, robotics, industrial automation, or motor-driven consumer products.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate across hardware, firmware, QA, and product teams.
- Ownership mindset with ability to lead test strategy and automation initiatives.
