Senior Data Analyst / Data Engineer

Experience : 5 - 10 Years

Location : Whitefield, Bengaluru

Employment Type : Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities :

- Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and technical/data teams.

- Lead requirement-gathering sessions to understand business needs and translate them into clear technical and data requirements.

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.

- Analyze large datasets to identify data quality issues, trends, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities.

- Collaborate with data engineers and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements.

- Perform data validation, troubleshoot data-related issues, and ensure data accuracy and consistency.

- Work with Databricks at a foundational level, including notebooks, data processing concepts, and data analysis.

- Prepare and maintain documentation for business requirements, data mappings, transformation logic, and processes.

- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Provide regular progress updates to management and proactively highlight risks, dependencies, and gaps.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or a related field.

- Strong expertise in SQL, including complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and query optimization.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

- Good understanding of data structures, data transformation, and data validation.

- Basic working knowledge of Databricks.

- Proven experience in requirement gathering, stakeholder management, and business communication.

- Ability to independently lead stakeholder discussions and represent the team or manager in meetings.

- Ability to translate business requirements into actionable technical/data specifications.

- Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with cloud-based data platforms.

- Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data integration.

- Exposure to Python or PySpark.

- Experience working in large-scale enterprise data environments.
