Lead Engineer, Embedded Software
About the role :
We at SEDEMAC are on the look-out for a Lead Engineer to join our stellar embedded software team. This role is broadly responsible for end-to-end design, development and testing of embedded software stack for a particular product line. The role has managerial aspects as well, and a few engineers would typically report to the lead engineer.
Major Responsibilities :
- Be responsible for multiple software development projects simultaneously within a product line (e.g., traction controllers, fuel injection controllers, generator set controllers).
- Ensure timely and high-quality software delivery in co-ordination with system and electronic engineers.
- Act as a single point of contact for internal (system engineering team) and external customers (OEMs).
- De-risk crucial showstoppers, develop complex logic, and resolve complex defects (RCAs), including post-production failures.
- Participate in hands-on software development (C, C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with software development standards (e.g., MISRA C/C++).
- Ensure high-quality documentation and contribute to the team's knowledge repository.
Technical Skills :
- Software development experience in embedded C and C++.
- Experience with RTOS, IDEs, debuggers, and emulators.
- Exposure to automotive systems (Bootloaders, CAN, UDS, OBD).
- Hands-on experience with Microcontrollers (Renesas, TI, Infineon, NXP).
- Comfort with Git and Model Based Development (MATLAB/Simulink).
Educational Requirement :
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering with at least 60% throughout academics.
Selection Process :
- Multi-phased tests plus interviews focusing on embedded software skills and logical/analytical abilities.
