Job Description

Role : Product Manager - Internal Performance Dashboard

Company : SMC Global Securities Ltd.

Function : Product Management / Internal Platforms

Location : New Delhi NCR (on-site)

Experience : 3 - 6 years

About the role :

SMC's internal performance dashboard is the system of record for how the business sees itself - revenue, brokerage, client acquisition, branch and franchise productivity, and RM-level performance. Leadership, regional heads, branch managers, Authorised Persons and franchise partners all look at the same numbers through it, each with a different slice of access.

We are looking for a Product Manager to own this platform end to end : what gets measured, who sees it, how fast it loads, and whether the person looking at it can act on what they see. This is an internal product, which means your users sit in the same building and will tell you exactly what is broken. It also means every number on the screen is one a business head will make a decision on.

What you will own :

- Product roadmap for the dashboard - define quarterly priorities across reporting modules, drilldowns, exports and alerting, balancing leadership asks against platform debt.

- Metric definitions and data contracts - work with Finance, Business and Engineering to agree what each metric means, at what grain, with what refresh cadence, and keep those definitions stable and documented. Ambiguity here is the single biggest source of trust loss in a performance dashboard.

- Role-based access design - specify entitlement models across Admin, Regional Head, RM, Branch, Franchisee and Authorised Person roles, so each user sees their own hierarchy and nothing beyond it.

- Requirement documentation - write clear PRDs, user journeys, acceptance criteria and edge-case matrices that engineering and QA can build and test against without a follow-up meeting.

- UAT and release management - plan and run UAT cycles with business stakeholders, triage defects with QA, sign off releases, and publish structured release notes (What's New, User Journey, Notes) to the user base.

- Stakeholder management - run recurring reviews with business heads, collect and prioritise change requests, and push back with reasoning when a request will not survive contact with the data.

- Data accuracy and reconciliation - establish checks that catch mismatches between the dashboard and source systems before a user does, and own the resolution loop when they surface.

- Adoption and usage - track who actually logs in, which reports get used, where users drop off, and close the gap between what was built and what gets opened.

What you need :

- 3 - 6 years in product management, business analysis or product-facing delivery, with at least 2 years on data, reporting or analytics products.

- Working knowledge of Indian capital markets - broking revenue models, brokerage and DP income, franchise and Authorised Person structures, client acquisition funnels. Prior experience at a broker, AMC, exchange, depository participant or fintech is strongly preferred.

- Strong SQL. You should be able to pull and validate numbers yourself rather than filing a ticket to find out whether a figure is wrong.

- Demonstrated ability to write precise specifications - PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, RBAC matrices.

- Experience running UAT with non-technical business stakeholders and converting vague feedback into scoped work.

- Comfort with BI and visualisation tooling (Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, Superset or equivalent) and an eye for when a chart is lying.

- Clear written communication. Much of this role is documentation that other people depend on.

Good to have :

- Exposure to data warehousing concepts, ETL pipelines and reporting-layer performance tuning.

- Familiarity with SEBI and exchange reporting obligations and how audit and compliance requirements shape internal reporting.

- Understanding of authentication and access controls appropriate to financial systems, including the limits of OTP-based auth and the case for SSO or MFA on sensitive dashboards.

- Experience with dashboard UX - information hierarchy, drilldown patterns, mobile-readable reporting.

- Basic front-end literacy (HTML/CSS) sufficient to prototype a layout and communicate intent to designers and developers.
