About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer - Full Stack to join our engineering team. As an engineer at Practo, you will work on building scalable, reliable, and high-quality products that serve millions of users. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. The role requires strong technical expertise, product thinking, ownership, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering and product teams.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Design and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.

- Work on complex engineering problems across frontend and backend systems.

- Develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve software applications.

- Define health metrics for systems and components and establish effective monitoring and alerting mechanisms.

- Collaborate closely with Engineering Managers on planning, execution, and delivery of engineering initiatives.

- Participate in architecture, system design, and technology stack decisions.

- Identify, prioritize, and drive technical debt and engineering optimization initiatives.

- Advocate for and implement best practices in software development, coding standards, testing, and code quality.

- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.

- Mentor and train engineers on design principles, coding practices, and software engineering methodologies.

- Collaborate with Product Managers and Program Managers to understand requirements and contribute to product planning and prioritization.

- Apply strong product thinking to evaluate technical solutions from the user's perspective.

- Contribute to performance benchmarking and optimization of applications and services.

- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve developer productivity and software quality.

Minimum Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

- Minimum 4+ years of professional software development experience with JavaScript.

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including JavaScript fundamentals and object model, backend development, and DOM manipulation.

- Strong understanding of React.js, Node.js, or similar modern frameworks.

- Hands-on experience with frontend and backend development tools such as Babel, Webpack, and NPM.

- Working knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, and DynamoDB.

- Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Flux, or similar technologies.

- Good understanding of AI-assisted software development lifecycle (AI SDLC) processes and best practices.

- Strong understanding of software development, testing, deployment, and maintenance practices.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to effectively communicate and advocate for technical solutions with Product Managers and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Strong knowledge of modern ECMAScript specifications.

- Experience working with Isomorphic React / Server-Side Rendering.

- Experience with GraphQL and RESTful APIs.

- Knowledge of modern authorization and authentication mechanisms, including JWT.

- Experience working in startups or fast-paced technology environments.

- Strong product mindset and ability to evaluate requirements from the user's perspective.

- Experience with application benchmarking, profiling, and performance optimization.

- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools alongside Git and modern code versioning workflows.

- Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles.

- Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices across teams.
