Role Overview:
We are looking for an OBD Developer with experience in automotive system engineering, OBD development, requirements management, and powertrain systems. The role involves developing and analyzing OBD requirements, performing MATLAB-based analysis, coordinating verification and validation activities, and working with cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, analyze, and maintain OBD and system requirements for automotive powertrain systems.
- Support OBD feature development, calibration, and system-level engineering activities.
- Perform MATLAB-based analysis and simulations to evaluate system and powertrain performance.
- Manage and trace requirements using IBM DOORS DNG.
- Coordinate with verification and validation teams to define test requirements, test cases, and validation activities.
- Analyze test results and support issue identification, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Define and evaluate powertrain performance targets based on system requirements and vehicle-level objectives.
- Maintain requirements traceability across development, testing, and validation activities.
- Collaborate with Powertrain, Calibration, Controls, Software, Testing, and other engineering teams.
- Support technical reviews, requirement changes, issue resolution, and project documentation.
- Ensure development activities comply with applicable automotive development processes and quality standards.
Required Skills:
- 3 - 6 years of experience in Automotive System Engineering and/or OBD development.
- Strong understanding of On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) and automotive powertrain systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for analysis and simulation.
- Experience with IBM DOORS DNG and requirements engineering.
- Experience in requirements definition, management, traceability, and change management.
- Understanding of verification and validation (V&V) processes and test methodologies.
- Experience working with powertrain performance requirements and targets.
- Ability to analyze technical issues and coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Automotive OEM/Tier-1 experience is preferred.
