About the role :

A Specialist Software Engineer in Java is a senior technical expert within the Data Engineering team, recognized for deep, hands-on mastery of our streaming and data platform stack. This role owns complex architectural decisions, drives engineering best practices, and is the go-to authority on distributed data systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own the architecture and technical design of complex data solutions.

- Act as the technical authority on streaming and data pipeline design (Kafka, Flink).

- Drive engineering best practices (code quality, testing, observability).

- Lead design reviews and mentor engineers across levels.

- Champion AI-assisted development and agentic workflows.

- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security compliance.

Requirements :

- 8+ years of experience in software development with technical ownership.

- Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.

- Advanced experience with Kafka and Apache Flink.

- Strong working expertise in AWS (Kinesis, EKS, S3, Lambda).

- Proven experience with Agentic AI tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, MCP servers).

- Strong command of SQL, data modeling, and CI/CD practices.
