The role :

This is a deliberately combined role for someone who is rare: a finance-qualified professional with real NetSuite depth who thinks like a product manager. We have merged what many companies split into two seats, because the person who understands the financial close is also the person best placed to judge which finance and operations problems are worth solving.

Two halves, both real :

The product half :

You own intake and prioritisation across functions. You run discovery with stakeholders, assess each requirement against our existing stack, run hands-on proofs-of-concept, and return a build-vs-buy recommendation with clear trade-offs. When the answer is build, you write the specification and partner with the Software Engineer to ship it. When it's buy, you run the evaluation and hand commercials to procurement. You are accountable for adoption and value realised, not just delivery.

The NetSuite half :

You are the NetSuite administrator. Configuration, roles and permissions, workflows, saved searches, reports and forms. You support Finance through period- and quarter-end close and own the recurring activities and controls that depend on it.

What you'll do :

Product and intake :

- Run structured discovery with business stakeholders across GTM, Finance, People Success, Talent Acquisition, Legal and IT; translate needs into crisp problem statements and well-defined requirements.

- Assess each requirement against the existing application stack: can this be solved by configuring an existing tool, automating, building, or buying.

- Run lightweight proofs-of-concept, including in Claude Code, to validate feasibility before committing effort or spend.

- Own build-vs-buy recommendations with clear trade-offs on cost, time, risk and maintainability.

- Write clear specifications and partner with the Software Engineer, Business Systems to deliver end to end.

- Run vendor and tool evaluations for buy decisions; hand negotiation and contracting to procurement. Own the renewal and vendor calendar.

- Own a prioritised roadmap and backlog across functions; manage stakeholders and expectations transparently.

- Drive adoption, enablement and post-launch value - measure outcomes and iterate.

- Maintain a single source of truth for requirements, decisions and the application landscape.

NetSuite and Finance :

- Own NetSuite administration: configuration, roles and permissions, workflows, saved searches, reports, forms and routine platform maintenance.

- Support Finance through period- and quarter-end close - the recurring activities and controls the team depends on.

- Document the close runbook, NetSuite configuration and key finance-system dependencies so they are resilient and transferable.

- Support audits with accurate evidence and documentation.

- Identify where manual finance and operations work should become automated, and specify it for the engineer to build.

What we're looking for :

- 4 - 6 years of experience, including hands-on NetSuite functional and administration work.

- Solid understanding of core finance and accounting processes - the financial close, AP/AR, reporting.

- Strong build-vs-buy judgment and the ability to map a requirement to existing systems and capabilities.

- Fluency across common SaaS ecosystems (CRM, finance, HR, support, collaboration) and how they integrate.

- Comfort being hands-on - running proofs-of-concept and validating feasibility yourself, including with AI tooling such as Claude Code.

- Excellent discovery, written specification and stakeholder-management skills.

- A bias for speed and outcomes; able to take a requirement to a decision in days, not weeks.

- Strong attention to detail and genuine ownership of recurring deliverables - the close does not move.

Nice to have :

- NetSuite administrator certification or formal NetSuite training.

- Exposure to systems used across People Success, Talent Acquisition or Legal.

- Familiarity with APIs, integrations and automation concepts.

- Experience supporting financial audits and compliance.

- Exposure to procurement, vendor management and renewal cycles.
