Key Responsibilities :

LookML Development & Semantic Layer Ownership :

- Own, design, and maintain the Looker semantic layer, including model architecture, views, Explores, and LookML code.

- Optimize LookML structures to ensure high performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Data Architecture Collaboration :

- Partner with the Data Architect to ensure efficient data models and structures supporting Looker Explores.

- Validate data transformations and schema designs for reporting accuracy and performance.

Dashboard Development :

- Design, build, and enhance complex Looker dashboards focused on financial and subledger reporting use cases.

- Apply best practices for dashboard performance tuning, UX, and end-user experience.

AI-Driven Insights & Advanced Looker Features :

- Integrate Looker Narratives and Gemini-powered automated insights into dashboards.

- Work with AI/ML teams to incorporate predictive insights and advanced analytics into BI workflows.

Governance, Security & Version Control :

- Implement strong data governance, access controls, and RBAC across Looker assets.

- Manage Git-based version control, code reviews, and CI/CD processes for Looker development.

- Ensure data consistency, reliability, and compliant usage of business-critical metrics.

Deployment & Infrastructure Support :

- Support the Solution Architect during pilot deployments, POCs, and production rollouts.

- Assist with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) integration, environment setup, and environment management.

Required Skills :

- 5+ years of experience in BI, Data Engineering, or Analytics roles.

- 3+ years of hands-on Looker experience, including LookML modeling and semantic layer design.

- Strong expertise in SQL, preferably with BigQuery.

- Proven experience in Looker dashboard development and performance tuning.

- Exposure to integrating BI tools with AI/ML services such as Vertex AI or Gemini.

- Experience with Looker APIs, automated deployments, Git version control, and CI/CD processes.

- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
