About the Role :

As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will own meaningful parts of the Rocketlane product from design through production.

Responsibilities :

- Design and build features end-to-end across our React frontend and Java backend.

- Work closely with Product and Design to turn customer problems into simple, thoughtful product experiences.

- Build polished, performant user experiences for complex SaaS workflows.

- Design clean APIs, data models, and backend services that can scale as our customers and usage grow.

- Solve challenging product problems involving real-time collaboration, rich interactive experiences, workflow automation, large datasets, and highly configurable enterprise use cases.

- Make thoughtful architectural decisions across frontend, backend, database, caching, and asynchronous processing.

- Own the performance and reliability of what you build from browser performance through API latency and database queries.

- Debug complex issues across the entire stack rather than stopping at service boundaries.

- Write maintainable, well-tested code and raise the quality bar through thoughtful code reviews.

- Identify technical debt and proactively improve architecture, developer experience, observability, and engineering productivity.

- Mentor engineers and help the team make better technical decisions.

- Take ownership of features in production and work with the team to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.

- Participate actively in engineering design discussions and influence how Rocketlane's technology evolves.

Requirements:

- We're looking for an engineer who has strong depth in at least one part of the stack, solid engineering fundamentals across the others, and the ability to independently take a customer problem from problem design, architecture, backend, frontend, and production.

Frontend Stack :

- React, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, SPA architecture, component design, HTML/CSS, state management, browser fundamentals, frontend performance profiling.

Backend Stack :

- Java, Spring, HTTP/REST API design, PostgreSQL, Redis, asynchronous processing, message brokers, distributed systems fundamentals.
