Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Lead Firmware Engineer to drive the design, development, and technical leadership of embedded hardware and firmware solutions for industrial automation products.
This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, focusing on embedded systems architecture, firmware development, hardware integration, and cross-functional collaboration.
The successful candidate will contribute to architecture decisions, design reviews, technical problem-solving, and product development while mentoring engineering teams and supporting engineering excellence initiatives.

Education :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities :
Embedded Systems Architecture & Technical Leadership :
- Define and drive embedded electronics architecture, including hardware, firmware, and hardware-software interfaces.
- Develop technology roadmaps for MCU/SoC platforms, RTOS environments, firmware frameworks, and development tools.
- Make architectural decisions considering performance, reliability, manufacturability, cybersecurity, and cost objectives.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex embedded system challenges.
Embedded Hardware Development :
- Lead hardware architecture reviews, schematic reviews, and PCB design reviews.
- Guide power supply design, component selection, EMC/EMI compliance, reliability engineering, and lifecycle management activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and PCB layout teams to ensure robust product development.
- Support hardware verification, validation, and environmental testing.
Embedded Firmware Development :
- Lead development of embedded firmware, including low-level drivers, RTOS-based applications, bootloaders, and communication protocols.
- Support implementation of secure firmware update mechanisms, secure boot, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Drive software quality through design reviews, coding standards, modular architecture, and maintainable software practices.
- Hands-On Engineering
- Participate in architecture reviews, hardware bring-up, prototype validation, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Support hardware-firmware integration using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debuggers, and related tools.
- Troubleshoot system performance, reliability, EMC/EMI, and field-related technical issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Work closely with system architects, controls engineers, quality teams, manufacturing teams, cybersecurity specialists, and product stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of requirements, validation strategies, interfaces, and system performance objectives.
- Support technical audits, certifications, and customer-related engineering activities.
Team Leadership :
- Mentor and support firmware and embedded engineering team members.
- Promote engineering best practices, documentation standards, configuration management, and traceability.
- Support team development, onboarding, and technical capability building.
- Contribute to successful product industrialization and production readiness.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- 9 to 12 years of experience in embedded firmware development.
- Strong expertise in Embedded C programming.
- Experience with RTOS-based or bare-metal firmware development.
- Solid understanding of MCU/SoC architectures, analog and digital electronics.
- Experience with PCB design processes, hardware reviews, and EMC/EMI fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience using laboratory debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analysis tools.
- Experience with JTAG/SWD debugging and trace tools.
- Understanding of bootloaders, firmware upgrades, and embedded software deployment.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols and interfaces.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Ability to work across hardware, firmware, power, timing, and system-level constraints.
Preferred Experience :
- Experience in industrial automation products such as servo drives, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motion controllers, or safety-related systems.
- Exposure to industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CAN, PROFINET, or IO-Link.
- Familiarity with embedded cybersecurity practices and secure firmware development.
