We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager to lead our global data engineering team from our Pune-based GCC.

This role combines technical leadership with people management, focusing on building scalable data platforms using modern technologies like Databricks, Python, and big data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage a distributed team of 8+ data engineers across geographies.

- Architect and oversee development of robust, scalable data pipelines and platforms.

- Collaborate with global stakeholders across Product, Data Science, and Business Analytics.

- Ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of data systems.

- Drive best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.

- Mentor and coach engineers for technical growth and career development.

- Manage sprint planning, delivery timelines, and stakeholder communication.

- Promote a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 10+ years of experience in software/data engineering.

- Minimum 5 years of experience managing engineering teams of 8+ members.

- Proven experience working with global or GCC-based development teams.

- Strong expertise in :

1. Databricks and Apache Spark.

2. Python for data workflows.

3. Relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

4. Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Delta Lake, Kafka).

- Solid understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices in data environments.

- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Certifications in cloud or data engineering platforms.
