Role Overview

As a Lead Engineer for Centralized Crypto Infrastructure at Delta6Labs, you will spearhead the design and implementation of sophisticated, high-throughput financial architectures that serve as the backbone for our core crypto products. You will build secure, ultra-low-latency backend systems handling order matching, custodial management, and real-time data streaming. Working closely with cross-functional teams-including product managers, DevOps, and security researchers-you will translate complex business logic into reliable, performant code. This role is pivotal in shaping our technical roadmap, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring our centralized platforms maintain institutional-grade security and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Architect and scale the core backend ledger, order-matching engines, and asset-balancing systems to handle millions of concurrent transactions with zero downtime.

- Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle from initial system design to deployment, emphasizing microservices architecture and high-availability systems.

- Optimize system performance by implementing ultra-low latency backend services in Rust or Golang, directly impacting the throughput of our centralized crypto trading and custody systems.

- Design secure APIs and integration pipelines for centralized exchange architectures, liquidity providers, institutional custody solutions, and banking rails.

- Mentor a team of talented engineers by conducting rigorous code reviews, defining engineering best practices, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical specifications that align with long-term business objectives, security compliance, and product milestones.

Required Skillset

- Demonstrated expertise in building high-performance backend services and distributed systems using Rust, Golang, or enterprise-grade Node.js.

- Deep understanding of centralized crypto mechanics, including order books, matching algorithms, cryptographic key management, cold/hot wallet storage, and ledger reconciliation.

- Strong grasp of system architecture principles, with proven experience optimizing database performance (SQL/NoSQL) and caching layers (Redis) for high-frequency transactional data.

- Solid understanding of security best practices for centralized financial systems, including mitigating API vulnerabilities, DDoS vectors, and securing internal fund transfers.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and lead cross-functional team discussions.

- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment in Gurgaon, maintaining high productivity and team engagement through clear documentation and proactive collaboration.

- 10 to 15 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a significant track record of delivering production-grade centralized fintech, high-frequency trading, or digital asset platforms.
