About the role:

As a Data Scientist at Talentlo, you will build and deploy machine learning models that power smarter, faster hiring decisions. Your work will sit at the core of a product used by hiring teams across India.

You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and design teams in a small, focused environment where every contribution matters.

Responsibilities:

- Build, validate, and deploy machine learning models that improve candidate screening and job-fit scoring

- Design and run rigorous experiments to evaluate model performance and product hypotheses

- Write clean, well-documented Python code for data pipelines, feature engineering, and model training

- Analyse large datasets using SQL to surface actionable insights for product and business teams

- Apply statistical techniques including hypothesis testing and regression analysis to validate findings

- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business problems into data science solutions

- Monitor deployed models in production and implement improvements based on performance metrics

- Contribute to building a scalable, reusable data science toolkit and best practices across the team

Experience & qualifications:

Must-have skills:

Data Science, Python and SQL

Required skills:

Regression Testing, Hypothesis Testing and Experiment Design

Preferred skills:

PyTorch, BigQuery ML, Vertex AI and Databricks

Required qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or a related quantitative field - or equivalent practical experience

Preferred qualifications:

- Familiarity with MLOps practices and model lifecycle management

- Experience working in a startup or product-led environment
