We're looking for an Engineering Manager who is passionate about building high-performing engineering teams, driving technical excellence, and leveraging AI to transform software delivery.

Role Overview:

As an Engineering Manager at Codvo, you will lead multiple engineering squads responsible for delivering scalable, cloud-native applications using Python, Node.js, React, and Angular. You will balance technical leadership, people management, delivery ownership, and engineering excellence while enabling teams to adopt AI-first software development practices, keeping yourself hands on.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Architects, Delivery Managers, and Customer stakeholders to ensure successful execution while continuously improving engineering productivity, software quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership:

- Code, lead, mentor, and grow multiple cross-functional engineering teams consisting of Full Stack Engineers, Backend Engineers, Frontend Engineers, QA Engineers, and Technical Leads.

- Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.

- Hire, coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent through regular feedback, career planning, and performance management.

- Build high-performing autonomous teams capable of delivering complex enterprise solutions.

Technical Leadership:

- Provide technical guidance on scalable architecture, modern software engineering practices, and cloud-native application development.

- Ensure engineering teams follow coding standards, architectural principles, security guidelines, and software quality best practices.

- Conduct architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.

- Drive modernization initiatives including Microservices, API-first architecture, Event-driven systems, Containerization, and Cloud-native development.

- Partner with Architects to establish reusable engineering patterns and platform capabilities.

Product & Delivery Management:

- Own engineering execution across multiple projects ensuring timely, predictable, and high-quality delivery.

- Collaborate with Product Managers and Customer stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical execution plans.

- Drive Agile execution across Scrum teams.

- Remove delivery impediments and enable teams to deliver efficiently.

- Ensure sprint commitments, release quality, and customer satisfaction goals are consistently achieved.

- Balance feature delivery with technical debt reduction and platform modernization initiatives.

AI-Driven Engineering:

- Champion AI-powered software development practices by enabling teams to leverage GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, OpenAI, Anthropic, Agentic Development workflows, AI-assisted code generation, AI-powered code reviews, AI-driven testing automation, AI-assisted documentation generation, and Engineering intelligence and productivity analytics.

- Promote adoption of AI throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to improve quality, velocity, and developer experience.

DevOps & Engineering Excellence:

- Drive engineering best practices including CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code, Test Automation, Secure SDLC, Observability, Performance Monitoring, and Release Automation.

- Ensure engineering teams continuously improve deployment frequency, software quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Architecture & Platform Engineering:

- Collaborate with Architecture teams to ensure solutions are highly scalable, secure by design, cloud-native, API-first, observable, resilient, maintainable, and cost optimized.

- Support modernization initiatives across cloud infrastructure and enterprise platforms.

Stakeholder Management:

- Partner closely with Product, Delivery, Customer Success, QA, DevOps, Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams.

- Communicate engineering progress, delivery risks, and technical strategy to senior leadership.

- Build trusted relationships with customers and participate in technical discussions and solution workshops.

- Support pre-sales and solutioning activities when required.

Operational Excellence:

- Establish engineering KPIs and continuously monitor delivery health.

- Drive root cause analysis for production incidents.

- Improve software reliability, performance, and platform stability.

- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.

- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and engineering metrics.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

- 10+ years of software engineering experience.

- 3+ years of Engineering Management experience leading multiple Agile teams.

- Strong experience delivering enterprise-scale software products.

- Experience managing 15 - 30+ engineers across multiple projects.

- Proven ability to lead distributed engineering teams.

Required Technical Skills:

Backend: Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask), Node.js, Express.js, NestJS.

Frontend: React.js, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.

Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS and/or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform (preferred).

Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, SQL & NoSQL databases.

Messaging & Integration: REST APIs, GraphQL (preferred), RabbitMQ, Kafka, Event-driven architecture.

DevOps: Git, Azure DevOps / GitHub, CI/CD Pipelines, SonarQube, Sentry.

AI & Modern Engineering Experience: Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-assisted software development, GitHub Copilot / Cursor / Claude Code, Prompt Engineering, AI-powered developer productivity, Agentic SDLC, AI-based automation. Understanding of RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), Vector Databases, AI Agents, MCP (Model Context Protocol), LangChain / LangGraph (preferred).

Leadership Competencies: Strong people leadership and mentoring skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management, strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability, strong decision-making and prioritization skills, ability to manage competing priorities across multiple engineering teams, experience building engineering culture and improving organizational capability.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience building SaaS products, experience in FinTech, Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, or Enterprise platforms, experience leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives, exposure to platform engineering and internal developer platforms, experience implementing engineering metrics and DORA metrics, experience with Security-by-Design and DevSecOps practices, knowledge of distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization, experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
