Role Overview :
As a C++ Engineer specializing in Telematics and Modem technologies, you will be instrumental in architecting, developing, and optimizing critical software components for our advanced connectivity platforms. This role involves working closely with hardware engineers, QA teams, and product managers to translate complex requirements into high-performance, reliable embedded solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the functionality and stability of our telematics units, ensuring robust communication and data integrity for our customers' most demanding applications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop high-performance C++ applications for embedded telematics control units, ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural guidelines.
- Implement and optimize software modules for modem integration, including cellular (LTE, 5G), GNSS, and other wireless communication protocols.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues within embedded systems, focusing on real-time performance, memory management, and inter-process communication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements, conduct design reviews, and integrate new features into existing telematics platforms.
- Develop robust unit tests and participate in system-level validation to ensure the reliability and quality of developed software components.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team productivity and software quality.
- Analyze and optimize system performance, power consumption, and resource utilization for embedded telematics devices.
- Mentor junior engineers and share expertise in C++, embedded systems, and telematics domain knowledge to foster a culture of technical excellence.
Required Skillset :
- Profound expertise in C++ programming, including modern C++ standards (C++11/14/17/20) and object-oriented design principles.
- Demonstrated experience with embedded systems development, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and resource-constrained environments.
- Strong understanding of telematics systems, including vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN, UDS, OBD-II) and data acquisition.
- In-depth knowledge of modem technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G, NB-IoT, CAT-M1) and experience with AT commands, cellular network interfaces, and GNSS modules.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, testing, and data analysis in an embedded development context.
- Experience with debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators for hardware-software integration.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems, propose innovative solutions, and drive them to successful implementation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
