BrightChamps is a fast-growing EdTech company building learning experiences that help children develop real-world skills and confidence.
We blend pedagogy, technology, and data to create scalable learning programs.
About the Role :
We're looking for a hands-on full-stack engineer who has built and operated real-time communication systems at scale.
You'll work on WebRTC, video conferencing, and streaming infrastructure, and you'll own the health of those systems end to end.
Building the system is only half the job.
We expect you to know whether it is actually working, using telemetry, metrics, traces, browser waterfalls, WebRTC statistics, and network behavior.
"The deployment succeeded" isn't proof that the system is fine.
The data is :
You will also work on agentic and AI-powered platforms, using AI as a force multiplier across engineering, debugging, and product problem-solving.
What We're Looking For :
Required :
- Strong experience building full-stack applications. Minimum 4 years
- Strong experience with React.js, Next.js, Node.js, and MySQL.
- Hands-on experience building or operating WebRTC/video conferencing systems, including WebRTC providers or platforms at meaningful scale.
- Strong understanding of WebRTC and real-time media : simulcast, adaptive bitrate, codecs, RTP/RTCP, ICE, STUN/TURN, and related concepts.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience with production telemetry, monitoring, and observability.
- Ability to analyze browser waterfalls and network behavior.
- Experience with distributed systems and production infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of AI development tools and workflows.
Strong Plus :
- Experience building agentic platforms or AI-powered products.
- Experience with large-scale conferencing platforms or thousands of concurrent real-time connections.
- Experience with Amazon IVS, LiveKit, Agora, Twilio, Daily, Vonage, or similar platforms.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry or similar observability tooling.
- Experience building real-time dashboards and monitoring systems.
- Experience with media quality analytics and WebRTC QoS.
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS.
What You'll Do :
1. Work on agentic and AI platforms :
- Build applications where AI agents interact with users, tools, APIs, and business systems.
- Understand agent workflows, tool calling, state management, and orchestration.
- Build reliable systems around LLMs and agents, with attention to latency, reliability, observability, and cost.
- Evaluate and monitor AI-powered workflows.
- Use AI aggressively as a development multiplier. You should ask "Can AI do this for me?" before spending hours on repetitive work by hand.
2. Full-stack engineering :
- Frontend : Build with React.js and Next.js, with a solid grasp of browser performance, state management, API integration, and modern web architecture. Debug issues at the frontend, browser, and network levels.
- Backend : Design and build APIs and backend services in Node.js. Work with asynchronous and distributed systems, MySQL and database design, caching, queues, and event-driven architecture.
- Infrastructure : Understand cloud infrastructure, containers, deployment, scaling, and observability, and debug across application, infrastructure, and network layers
