Android Automotive Audio Architect to lead the architecture, design, development, and integration of advanced Android Automotive OS (AAOS) audio solutions for next-generation automotive infotainment platforms.

The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in the AAOS Audio Framework, AudioFlinger, Audio Policy, Audio HAL, CarAudioService, ALSA/TinyALSA, Android Automotive audio architecture, and Linux audio systems. The role requires strong technical leadership across Android framework, middleware, BSP, HAL, DSP, and automotive hardware layers.

Role & Responsibilities :

- Define and own the end-to-end architecture for Android Automotive audio systems.

- Design scalable and production-ready AAOS Audio Framework solutions.

- Define audio architecture across Android Framework - HAL - ALSA - DSP/Codec - Amplifier - Speakers.

- Lead integration of AAOS audio services with automotive hardware and vehicle platforms.

- Design solutions for multi-zone audio, volume groups, audio contexts, routing strategies, focus management, and concurrent audio.

- Evaluate and resolve complex audio architecture and performance issues across framework, middleware, BSP, and hardware layers.

- Drive architecture decisions involving AIDL/HIDL, Binder, JNI, native services, and Android system services.

- Work closely with BSP, hardware, DSP, middleware, system, and validation teams.

- Lead technical reviews, architecture reviews, design documentation, and code reviews.

- Establish technical standards and best practices for automotive audio development.

- Mentor senior engineers and provide technical direction to development teams.

- Support customer discussions, technical proposals, feasibility analysis, and issue resolution.

- Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, scalability, and automotive quality requirements.

Required Technical Expertise :

- 4 - 11 years of experience in Android, Embedded, Automotive, or Infotainment software.

- Strong architectural experience with AAOS/AOSP.

- Deep hands-on knowledge of Android Audio Framework.

- Strong knowledge of Android system services and AOSP source-code architecture.

- Experience with ADB, logcat, dumpsys, Git, Gerrit and debugging/profiling tools.

- Understanding of DSP, Codec, Amplifier and audio hardware integration.

Automotive-Specific Expertise :

Education :

- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
