Job Description

Role Overview :

Android Audio Framework Engineer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, optimizing, and debugging audio solutions across the complete Android audio stack. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Android Audio Framework components, native C/C++ development, Audio HAL, Linux audio subsystems, and audio hardware integration.

The engineer will work closely with Android Framework, AudioFlinger, AudioPolicyManager, Audio HAL, ALSA, kernel drivers, DSP, and hardware teams to develop and maintain robust audio solutions for Android-based platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain Android Audio Framework components.

- Work with AudioFlinger, AudioPolicyManager, AudioTrack, AudioRecord, AAudio, and Audio HAL.

- Develop and integrate audio features for Android-based devices.

- Debug audio routing, playback, recording, latency, synchronization, and performance issues.

- Analyze and resolve issues across the Android framework, HAL, kernel, and hardware layers.

- Implement and customize audio policies, routing, volume control, audio focus, and device management.

- Collaborate with BSP, kernel, hardware, and application teams for end-to-end audio integration.

- Perform audio bring-up and validation on new hardware platforms.

- Analyze audio logs, dumps, traces, and performance data to identify root causes.

- Optimize audio latency, CPU utilization, memory usage, and overall system performance.

- Support debugging of Bluetooth, USB, HDMI, speaker, microphone, headset, and other audio interfaces.

- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, testing, and documentation.

- Experience with ALSA / tinyalsa.

- Experience with Android Automotive or embedded Android platforms.

- Knowledge of Bluetooth audio, A2DP, HFP, LE Audio, USB Audio, or HDMI Audio.

- Experience with audio DSP integration and vendor-specific audio solutions.

- Familiarity with audio measurement and tuning tools.

- Experience working with Qualcomm, MediaTek, or other Android SoCs.

Education :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
