Role Overview :

As a Lead Backend Engineer, youll be responsible for rewriting and modernizing our backend APIs using Java Spring Boot and microservice architecture. Youll work in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, focusing on latency optimization, query performance, scalable architecture, and distributed caching strategies.

What Youll Do :

- Architect, develop, and optimize high-performance microservices in Java/Spring Boot.

- Reduce API latency and improve system throughput for high-volume trading workloads.

- Design and fine-tune complex SQL queries; optimize database performance.

- Implement distributed caching, async messaging, and resilient system design.

- Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to deliver business-critical APIs.

- Ensure stability, clarity, and order in fast-moving projects.

- Ability to mentor junior engineers/interns as required.

- Optionally leverage AI-assisted code generation and test automation to accelerate delivery.

What Were Looking For :

- 8+ years of backend development experience using Java/Spring Boot.

- Strong grasp of microservice architecture, REST APIs, WebSocket, SQL optimization and scalability patterns.

- Experience with Redis, Kafka, MSSQL (or any other DB like Postgres, MySQL), profiling tools, and performance tuning.

- Exposure to cloud-native (Kubernetes, Docker) environments preferred (especially on MS Azure).

- Startup mindset thrives in fast execution cycles, ambiguity, and evolving requirements.

- Bonus : Familiarity with AI-driven dev/test tools (Claude Code, Cursor etc.).
