Yallo Retail - Senior Developer - Power BI

About the Role :

We are looking to onboard experienced Power BI Consultants to support the Group Audit & Advisory Services (GA&AS) team. The ideal candidates should be capable of working independently once the scope of work is finalized. The role involves both migration of existing dashboards (primarily from Qlik Sense) and development of new Power BI dashboards for internal audit and reporting purposes.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Power BI Development :

- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports.

- Create and enhance data models using Power Query, DAX, and best-practice BI architecture.

- Implement row-level security, user access controls, and governance policies.

2. Data Integration & Management :

- Integrate and transform data from multiple sources including Oracle DWH, Excel, SQL Server, etc.

- Ensure end-to-end data flow accuracy, completeness, and reliability.

- Perform data validation and maintain high-quality datasets.

3. PLSQL, PowerApps & Power Automate :

- Develop scripts using PLSQL as required for backend logic and data extraction.

- Build workflows and automation using PowerApps and Power Automate.

4. Migration Support :

- Assist in migrating existing dashboards from Qlik Sense to Power BI.

- Recreate logic, visualizations, and data models while ensuring functional parity.

5. Performance Optimization :

- Optimize data models, DAX queries, and ETL processes for speed and efficiency.

- Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting across reports.

6. Documentation & Governance :

- Prepare and maintain documentation for data flows, logic, calculations, and dashboards.

- Support audit and governance processes with clear technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5- 7 years of experience in Power BI development and BI projects.

- Strong hands-on experience in Power Query, DAX, data modelling, and dashboard creation.

- Proficiency in PLSQL, PowerApps, and Power Automate.

- Experience migrating dashboards from other BI tools (Qlik Sense preferred).

- Ability to integrate data from multiple enterprise sources (Oracle, Excel, SQL Server, etc.).

- Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL concepts, and BI architecture.

- Experience implementing security roles and enforcing governance standards.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Good-to-Have :

- Experience in audit or internal controls reporting.

- Exposure to data visualization best practices for audit and risk functions.
