Software Engineer Wearables Connectivity (Android)


About the Role :


We are looking for a handson software engineer to design, develop, and test the connectivity engine for wearable devices on the Android platform. The candidate will work closely with crossfunctional teams, independently troubleshoot issues, and ensure robust communication between wearables and host devices.


Key Responsibilities :


- Design and implement connectivity features for wearables using C, C++, and Java within the Android framework.


- Develop kernellevel interfaces such as NETLINK and IOCTL to enable userspace communication.


- Write and execute unit tests and integration tests to validate functionality and performance.


- Diagnose, debug, and resolve connectivity issues endtoend, driving problems to closure with minimal supervision.


- Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams, providing clear technical updates and documentation.


Required Skills :


- Strong programming experience in C, C++, and Java.


- Proficiency with Android framework and Android application development.


- Handson experience with kernel interfacing (NETLINK, IOCTL) from user space.


- Solid understanding of sockets and interprocess communication mechanisms.


- Ability to independently debug complex issues and deliver solutions.


- Effective verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Skills :


- Prior work on Androidbased wearable products.


- Exposure to Android architecture components and system services.


Qualifications :


- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.


- Demonstrated experience developing and testing connectivity solutions for embedded or wearable devices.
