Wordpress Developer - Themes & Plugins

Role Overview :

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented WordPress Developer to design, develop, and maintain dynamic websites and applications using WordPress.

The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of WordPress architecture, theme and plugin development, and front-end technologies.

You will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and backend developers to deliver engaging, responsive, and high-performance websites.

Key Responsibilities :

- Build custom themes and plugins as per project requirements.

- Customize existing themes and templates based on design mockups and specifications.

- Integrate third-party APIs and services into WordPress websites.

- Perform regular site maintenance, updates, and performance tuning.

- Convert Figma/PSD/mockups into responsive WordPress themes using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.

- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.

- Optimize front-end performance for fast loading times.

- Customize WordPress core functions and hooks (actions & filters).

- Build and manage custom post types, taxonomies, and shortcodes.

- Create and manage REST APIs and AJAX calls within WordPress.

- Conduct functional, performance, and security testing.

- Optimize website performance (page speed, database queries, image optimization).

- Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.

- Deploy websites to staging and production environments.

- Maintain clear documentation for code, processes, and configurations.

- Use version control tools (e.g, Git) for source code management.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.

- 3 - 5+ years of experience in WordPress development.

- Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.

- Experience with custom WordPress theme and plugin development.

- Familiarity with page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg.

- Understanding of WordPress security best practices.

- Experience with WooCommerce, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), and Yoast SEO is a plus.

- Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, or other version control systems
