We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented WordPress Developer to join our web development team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality WordPress websites, custom themes, and plugins in compliance with WordPress coding standards.

This role involves working on both front-end and back-end development, optimizing site performance, integrating third-party APIs, and ensuring a seamless user experience.

A strong understanding of PHP, WooCommerce, and modern WordPress architecture is essential for this role.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain responsive, user-friendly websites using WordPress CMS.

- Create custom WordPress themes and plugins while adhering to official WordPress coding standards and best practices.

- Contribute to WordPress plugin development and submit high-quality plugins to the WordPress.org repository when required.

- Integrate and customize popular WordPress plugins such as WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to meet project requirements.

- Develop and maintain custom functionalities, shortcodes, and widgets to enhance site features and usability.

- Work on RESTful API integrations and handle data interchange using formats like JSON and XML.

- Ensure website performance, speed optimization, and cross-browser compatibility through code optimization and caching techniques.

- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement pixel-perfect, mobile-responsive layouts.

- Maintain clean, well-structured, and well-documented code following WordPress development standards.

- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve website issues and plugin conflicts efficiently.

- Manage version control using Git or Mercurial for collaborative development and deployment workflows.

- Perform regular website maintenance, security updates, and backup management.

- Optimize websites for SEO, accessibility, and usability in collaboration with the content and marketing teams.

- Stay updated with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the development workflow.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field.

- 3 to 6 years of professional experience in WordPress development, including theme and plugin customization.

- Proficient in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.

- Strong understanding of WordPress core, theme hierarchy, hooks, filters, and APIs.

- Hands-on experience with WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).

- Good knowledge of RESTful API integration and handling data formats such as JSON and XML.

- Proficient in using version control systems like Git or Mercurial.

- Experience with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS is an advantage.

- Understanding of security principles and performance optimization techniques in WordPress.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure website stability.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience developing and publishing plugins on WordPress.org or other marketplaces.

- Familiarity with headless WordPress setups using REST API or GraphQL.

- Knowledge of Shopify or other CMS platforms.

- Understanding of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards.

- Exposure to Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
