About the Role :

We are looking for a skilled Okta Engineer with strong expertise in Okta Workflows, Okta Identity Governance (OIG), and enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in identity lifecycle automation, authentication frameworks, governance controls, and secure access management for large-scale enterprise environments.

This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Okta-based IAM solutions while ensuring security, compliance, and seamless user access experiences.

Key Responsibilities :

Okta Administration & Engineering :

- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide Okta Identity Cloud solutions.

- Configure and maintain :

i. Single Sign-On (SSO)

ii. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

iii. Adaptive MFA

iv. Device Trust

v. Lifecycle Management

vi. Access Policies

- Manage user onboarding, offboarding, and role-based access controls.

- Configure security policies aligned with Zero Trust architecture principles.

Okta Workflows (Advanced) :

- Build and optimize advanced Okta Workflows for identity lifecycle automation.

- Automate processes such as :

i. Joiner / Mover / Leaver workflows

ii. Access requests & approvals

iii. Group assignments

iv. Notification triggers

v. Compliance reporting

- Integrate workflows with HRMS, ITSM, ticketing, and enterprise applications.

Identity Governance (OIG) :

- Implement and manage Okta Identity Governance capabilities.

- Design certification campaigns, access reviews, and entitlement governance processes.

- Ensure least-privilege access and compliance with internal audit requirements.

- Monitor segregation of duties and governance controls.

Integrations & Authentication :

- Integrate SaaS and enterprise applications with Okta using :

i. SAML

ii. OIDC

iii. OAuth 2.0

iv. SCIM Provisioning

v. JIT Provisioning

vi. Okta APIs

- Troubleshoot authentication, provisioning, and federation issues.

- Support complex app onboarding and access transformation initiatives.

Migration & Security :

- Participate in Okta Identity Engine (OIE) migration projects.

- Upgrade legacy authentication systems to modern identity frameworks.

- Implement security best practices for privileged and remote access environments.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5-10 years of experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM)

- Strong hands-on expertise in :

i. Okta Workflows (Advanced)

ii. Okta Identity Governance (OIG)

iii. MFA / Adaptive MFA / Device Trust

iv. OIE migration projects

v. SCIM & JIT provisioning

vi. Okta API integrations

vii. SAML / OIDC / OAuth protocols

- Experience integrating multiple SaaS applications with Okta.

- Strong understanding of Zero Trust and identity security best practices.

- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.

- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.

i. PowerShell

- Exposure to other IAM platforms :

i. Microsoft Azure Active Directory

ii. SailPoint

iii. Ping Identity

- Okta certifications :

i. Okta Certified Professional

ii. Okta Certified Consultant

Qualification : Bachelors degree in Engineering / Computer Science / IT or equivalent
