AI Engineer - Agentic AI & Generative AI

Job Overview :

About the Role :

VLink India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to develop and integrate Agentic AI and Generative AI solutions for its client, BlackRock. The role focuses on building intelligent AI agents capable of executing multi-step workflows, interacting with enterprise systems, and automating complex tasks using large language models (LLMs). The ideal candidate will combine practical Agentic AI development experience with strong backend engineering skills and working knowledge of Java. Experience in deploying AI-powered applications within enterprise environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and deploy AI agents capable of handling multi-step tasks, reasoning, and automated decision-making workflows.

- Build agent orchestration workflows incorporating tool calling, function execution, memory, and interactions with external systems.

- Develop Generative AI applications using LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector databases.

- Work with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Semantic Kernel to implement agent-based solutions.

- Integrate AI agents with REST APIs, databases, enterprise applications, and internal developer tools.

- Develop and maintain backend services and microservices to support AI application functionality, scalability, and reliability.

- Use Java and Core Java concepts to develop, integrate, debug, and support backend components and application services.

- Evaluate AI solution performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve response quality, reliability, and workflow execution.

- Support deployment and integration of AI applications within enterprise environments, following established engineering and security practices.

- Collaborate with engineering, product, and platform teams to identify use cases and deliver reusable AI capabilities.

- Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD workflows, and continuous improvement of AI engineering solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 4+ years of professional experience in software or application development, with strong exposure to Generative AI and Agentic AI.

- Mandatory hands-on experience in Agentic AI development, including agent workflows, orchestration, tool/function calling, memory, or multi-step reasoning.

- Strong understanding of LLMs and their application in building AI-powered enterprise solutions.

- Experience with one or more Agentic AI frameworks, such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Semantic Kernel.

- Knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, and AI application integration.

- Experience integrating AI agents with APIs, databases, enterprise systems, or business applications.

- Strong backend development fundamentals, including REST APIs, microservices, and scalable application design.

- Working knowledge of Java and Core Java, including collections, exception handling, multithreading, concurrency, and debugging.

- Ability to troubleshoot application issues and develop maintainable, production-ready code.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience deploying and maintaining Agentic AI or GenAI applications in enterprise environments.

- Practical experience with Java application deployment and backend service integration.

- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern software engineering practices.

- Exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Experience in AI infrastructure, platform engineering, developer productivity tools, or enterprise AI transformation initiatives.

Education :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates with relevant practical experience in AI engineering and software development will be considered.
