Virtusa - Java Full Stack Developer

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, AWS, and event-driven architectures, along with hands-on experience in modern frontend technologies such as TypeScript, React, and Node.js.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance applications using Java and Spring Boot.

- Build robust RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise applications.

- Develop frontend applications using React and TypeScript, with exposure to Next.js.

- Design and implement microservices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and event-driven architectures.

- Develop and integrate messaging and event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.

- Design and optimize solutions using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.

- Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications on AWS, including EC2, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and related services.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, and/or Ansible.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, CodePipeline, and CodeBuild.

- Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

- Implement automated testing and quality engineering practices across the application lifecycle.

- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design, code reviews, and performance optimization.

- Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, integration, and production issues.

- Collaborate with product managers, architects, developers, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement.

Requirements :

- 7 - 12 years of experience in software development, with 7+ years of hands-on Java development.

- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and event-driven systems.

- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.

- Strong experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and familiarity with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.

- Good hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch.

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices, with experience using GitHub/GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, or equivalent tools.

- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, and/or Ansible for Infrastructure as Code.

- Hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and JavaScript/Node.js.

- Exposure to Next.js would be an advantage.

- Strong understanding of automated testing, quality engineering, and test-driven/quality-driven development practices.

- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
