Role Overview :
Vehant Technologies is hiring a Senior Multimedia Engineer with 4 to 7 years of experience to lead the development of our high-performance video analytics and security solutions. As a Senior Multimedia Engineer, you will serve as the technical anchor for multimedia engineering, bridging hardware acceleration, computer vision models, and enterprise software architecture. You will architect, build, and optimize scalable, ultra-low latency video ingestion, streaming, and processing pipelines across diverse compute platforms.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architecture & Design : Architect and implement robust, multi-threaded video streaming, ingestion, and processing pipelines using C++.
- Framework Mastery : Develop customized plugins, packet parsers, demuxers and optimize pipelines using FFmpeg libraries (libavcodec, libavformat) and GStreamer frameworks.
- Performance Optimization : Drive hardware-accelerated video decoding/encoding using NVIDIA DeepStream, CUDA, NVDEC/NVENC, or Intel Media SDK/OneVPL to maximize throughput, minimize memory copies (zero-copy architectures), and reduce CPU utilization.
- Protocol Implementation : Design solutions utilizing video streaming protocols like RTSP, RTMP, WebRTC, MPEG-TS, and HLS/DASH, as well as camera interoperability standards (ONVIF Profiles S/G/T/M), ensuring minimal frame drop and optimal synchronization.
- Technical Leadership : Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish best practices for multimedia software development.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner with AI and Computer Vision teams to seamlessly integrate deep learning inference models into video pipelines.
Required Skills :
- Experience : 4 to 7 years of professional software development experience, with a core focus on multimedia engineering and video processing.
- Core Languages : Expert-level proficiency in C and C++ (C++11/14/17), with deep knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and memory management.
- Multimedia Frameworks : Extensive hands-on experience writing custom plugins or low-level application code in FFmpeg and GStreamer.
- Codecs & Protocols : Deep understanding of H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 codecs, alongside networking protocols (RTP, RTCP, RTSP, SDP, UDP/TCP, WebRTC).
- Environment : Advanced experience in Linux environments, including profiling and debugging tools like GDB, Valgrind, and Perf.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and deploying multimedia applications at scale in cloud or edge environments.
- Knowledge of streaming security protocols (SRTP, TLS, PKI device authentication) and exposure to vector or time-series databases for frame-level event indexing.
- Prior experience in Video Management Systems (VMS), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), surveillance, or smart city domains.
What We Offer :
- Opportunity to spearhead multimedia architecture for bleeding-edge AI and computer vision products.
- A collaborative, innovation-driven work culture with high ownership.
- Competitive salary and clear paths for leadership growth.
