Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to establish, drive, and enhance enterprise-wide data governance practices. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives around data governance, data quality, metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and regulatory compliance while leveraging Microsoft Purview and Azure data services.

This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, data engineering, security, compliance, and architecture teams to ensure trusted, secure, and well-governed data assets across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the enterprise Data Governance program and define governance strategies, policies, standards, and operating models.

- Design and implement data governance frameworks using Microsoft Purview.

- Drive data discovery, data classification, metadata management, data cataloging, and data lineage initiatives.

- Establish and maintain data ownership, stewardship, and governance processes across business functions.

- Ensure sensitive and critical data is identified, classified, protected, and compliant with organizational and regulatory requirements.

- Integrate Microsoft Purview with Azure data platforms to provide end-to-end data visibility and governance.

- Collaborate with Data Engineering, Security, Compliance, Risk, and Business teams to improve data quality and governance practices.

- Define and monitor data governance KPIs, policies, controls, and compliance metrics.

- Support audit, risk management, and regulatory compliance initiatives through effective governance controls.

- Drive data quality improvement programs and resolve governance-related issues.

- Mentor and guide governance teams while promoting a data-driven culture across the organization.

Required Candidate Profile :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Proven experience leading enterprise Data Governance initiatives.

- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview.

- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and data quality.

- Experience with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, and Microsoft Fabric.

- Understanding of data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance standards.

- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and enterprise data platforms.

- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
