What the role owns :
- Own enterprise HDD/storage firmware architecture and development.
- Design and enhance firmware features using C/C++.
- Drive firmware performance, reliability, scalability, and optimization.
- Work on SAS/SATA/NVMe and embedded storage technologies.
- Lead firmware debugging, issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and design improvements.
- Provide technical direction and contribute to architecture/design decisions.
Who it works with :
- Work closely with Firmware Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Validation/QA, and System/Storage Architects.
- Collaborate with Product Management and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Coordinate with teams involved in HDD/SSD, storage controllers, embedded systems, and performance engineering.
- Provide technical guidance to junior and senior engineers.
What success looks like in the first year :
- Successfully contribute to and/or lead storage firmware architecture and development.
- Deliver firmware features with high quality, reliability, and performance.
- Improve firmware performance, stability, and debugging efficiency.
- Resolve complex firmware issues and drive effective root-cause analysis.
- Become a key technical contributor for enterprise storage/HDD firmware.
- Build strong collaboration across firmware, hardware, validation, and product teams.
