We ThinkPalm Technologies Pvt. Ltd. are excited to announce an opening for a Java Backend Architect to join our Wallet Engineering Team, driving the technical vision and architecture of our new Reimbursements platform.
This is a high-impact role in a greenfield product area, offering a unique opportunity to define system architecture, set engineering standards, and influence long-term platform strategywhile integrating seamlessly with our core Wallet services.
Position : Java Backend Architect
Location : Kochi
Experience : 8+ Years
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead architecture, design, and high-level technical direction for backend systems within the Reimbursements product.
- Define and evolve API architecture, service boundaries, domain models, and communication patterns for distributed cloud systems.
- Align architectural decisions with business goals by working closely with Product, Engineering Managers, and Principal Engineers.
- Drive the technical roadmap ensuring scalability, security, and reliability across the Wallet ecosystem.
- Review technical implementations and enforce architectural and coding best practices.
- Architect systems using GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, event-driven patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain architectural documents, design patterns, and engineering guidelines.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and frameworks.
- Conduct technical assessments, threat modeling, and design reviews.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence across the team.
Tech Stack :
- Backend : Java (Spring Boot), Go, REST APIs, MongoDB
- Platform : GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CircleCI
- Others : Event-driven architecture, Backstage.io, Prometheus/Grafana
Required Skills :
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience, with 3+ years in an architect or tech lead role.
- Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and scalable REST API design.
- Strong experience architecting solutions on cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and message brokers.
- Hands-on NoSQL experience (preferably MongoDB).
- Ability to architect for high availability, observability, security, and maintainability.
- Experience shaping engineering direction in fast-paced product environments.
Nice to Have :
- Working knowledge of Go.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CircleCI.
- Familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stack.
- Understanding of authentication/SSO frameworks like Okta.
- Open-source contributions or tech community involvement.
