Role Overview :
As a Teradata Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data warehouse solutions that serve as the backbone for our clients' analytical reporting. You will work closely with data architects, business analysts, and project stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into efficient database designs. Your daily contributions will directly influence the speed and accuracy of critical financial reporting, ensuring that our clients can make informed, data-backed decisions in high-stakes environments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and implement complex Teradata database objects, including tables, views, macros, and stored procedures to support scalable data integration.
- Develop and optimize end-to-end ETL processes using Teradata utilities such as BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, and TPT to ensure seamless data movement.
- Conduct deep-dive performance tuning on SQL queries and database structures to minimize latency and improve system throughput for large-scale datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot data integrity issues and resolve production bottlenecks, ensuring high availability of analytical platforms.
- Document technical specifications and data mapping requirements to maintain transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in Teradata architecture, with a strong command of SQL for complex data manipulation and analytical processing.
- Proven ability to execute performance tuning strategies, including index optimization, partition management, and workload management techniques.
- Proficiency in designing and deploying high-performance ETL pipelines within enterprise-grade data warehouse environments.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate technical constraints and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Capability to work independently in a remote or distributed team environment while maintaining high standards of code quality and project delivery.
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field, supported by 5 - 7 years of hands-on experience in data engineering roles.
