Role Overview :
We are looking for an experienced Telematics System Validation Engineer with 5+ years of automotive testing experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience in telematics, connected vehicles, infotainment, or ECU validation. The candidate will be responsible for validating connected vehicle features across bench, HIL, lab car, prototype, and vehicle environments, with strong expertise in requirement-based testing, diagnostics, automotive network analysis, defect debugging, and validation reporting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze system requirements, feature specifications, interface documents, and use cases.
- Prepare and execute test plans, test cases, validation reports, and requirement traceability.
- Validate telematics features including eCall/bCall, remote vehicle operations, OTA, vehicle health, connected services, GPS/GNSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular connectivity.
- Perform system, integration, functional, regression, and end-to-end validation across bench, HIL, lab car, prototype, and vehicle setups.
- Validate data flow across vehicle ECU, TCU, mobile app, backend, and cloud interfaces.
- Analyze CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDS, DoIP, and OBD-II communication logs.
- Reproduce defects and analyze traces, DTCs, and logs for root cause identification.
- Support defect triage and coordinate with development, systems, supplier, and customer teams for issue closure.
- Perform vehicle network troubleshooting and system-level debugging.
- Develop and execute test automation using Python and CAPL.
Mandatory Skills :
- 5+ years of automotive testing and validation experience.
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience in telematics, connected vehicle, infotainment, or ECU validation.
- Strong experience in automotive system validation, ECU validation, vehicle diagnostics, and requirement-based testing.
- Hands-on experience with CAN, CAN FD, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
- Strong knowledge of UDS, DoIP, OBD-II, and DTC analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Vector CANoe and CANalyzer.
- Experience with LTE/4G/5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS/GNSS.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Python and CAPL.
- Experience in vehicle-level, bench, or HIL validation.
- Good understanding of defect lifecycle management and root cause analysis.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience in OTA update validation.
- Cybersecurity validation awareness.
- Cloud connectivity testing experience.
- Android Automotive exposure.
- HIL testing using dSPACE or Vector.
- Experience with vTESTstudio.
- Automotive SPICE awareness.
- Good understanding of the connected vehicle ecosystem.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to work with global stakeholders.
