Technical Product Owner - Backend Development

Job Summary :

We are seeking a Technical Product Owner Backend Development to lead the planning, prioritization, and execution of high-impact backend services and infrastructure initiatives.

This role bridges business needs and technical execution, requiring strong product management skills alongside a solid background in backend engineering.

You will work closely with engineering, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems that power mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Translate product vision and business requirements into technical user stories and acceptance criteria.

- Create and maintain a clear roadmap for backend feature development and infrastructure improvements.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend engineers, designers, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

- Serve as the primary bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and delivered as expected.

- Maintain clear documentation of requirements, architecture decisions, and delivery milestones.

- Provide technical insight and support to engineering teams during design, development, and code reviews.

- Advocate for and help implement best practices in software design, performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability.

- Support backend engineers in assessing technical feasibility, identifying risks, and making build-vs-buy decisions.

- Lead Agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, retrospectives).

- Drive continuous delivery, rapid iteration, and measurable improvement in product outcomes.

- Track and report on KPIs such as story cycle time, team velocity, and defect rates.

Required Qualifications :

- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer, with strong exposure to Java backend development.

- 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or similar role in backend-focused environments.

- Hands-on understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and system integration.

- Familiarity with Java as a primary backend language; awareness of frontend integration using React.

- Solid experience working within Agile and Scrum frameworks; ability to lead agile teams and ceremonies independently.

- Demonstrated success in managing complex technical products with cross-functional dependencies.

- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
