Job Description - MDM Engineer (Semarchy xDM)

About the Role :

Techment is looking for a MDM Engineer to build and run a Master Data Management platform on Semarchy xDM for a client's Data & Platform team. This is a technical, engineering role : you will turn business user needs into model and matching changes, work with the technical teams that own the source systems to integrate their data, and run the MDM infrastructure and deployments from dev through production. Users decide how the data should be treated; you make the platform do it.

Key Responsibilities :

- Turn user needs into xDM entities, validations, and steward screens, and design and tune match/merge rules and survivorship.

- Test matching changes against known outcomes before they ship, and build the customer hierarchies and the changes sent back to source systems.

- Work with source-system teams (e.g., Salesforce, Fivetran, third-party data providers, and web registration forms) to agree on interfaces, and build the loads and replication in both directions.

- Run Semarchy xDM and its PostgreSQL databases across dev, QA, UAT, and prod, including model promotion, scheduled jobs, replication health, and monitoring.

- Manage GitHub Actions pipelines, deployments, single sign-on, secrets, and access.

Required Qualifications :

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Semarchy xDM, and 5+ years in data engineering or data platforms.

- Deep experience designing and tuning matching algorithms : fuzzy and deterministic matching, blocking, similarity measures, thresholds, and measuring precision and recall.

- Strong PostgreSQL and SQL skills, including replication and performance tuning.

- Cloud basics (serverless functions, secrets, message queues, single sign-on) and CI/CD with GitHub Actions.

- Clear writing, and the ability to explain data to non-technical users.

- Comfortable working with AI coding assistants such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to write, review, and test SQL, models, and scripts faster, while checking the output yourself.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Snowflake administration experience.

- Experience with Fivetran.

- .NET or Node experience.

- Salesforce experience.

- Exposure to B2B or membership data.
