This Is an Ownership Role, Not a Diagram Role :

Most "architect" roles are a step away from the code. You draw boxes, you write a Confluence page, you hand it to a team, and you hope. Six months later the system looks nothing like the diagram.

That's not this.

At Techdome you own the architecture and you stay close enough to the code to be accountable for it. You make the call on how our healthcare and payment systems are built, and you live with the consequences in production, with real PHI and real money moving through them. You set the standard, then you defend it in PRs, in incident reviews, and in front of clients.

If you've earned the right to make the hard calls and you want a seat where those calls actually matter this is the place.

What Techdome Actually Is :

We're a product venture studio a team of 80+ engineers across Hyderabad, Indore, Mumbai, Dubai, and the US. Bootstrapped, profitable, and aggressively investing in our own products.

We don't just take client work. We co-build products and take equity. We've shipped a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform for GLP-1 clinics (Wizlo), an AI-powered interview platform on an M&A track (JustInterview.ai), an enterprise onboarding product (Sparrow), and payment and billing flows that move real money for SaaS products. We run on a proprietary execution framework the Techdome Blueprint that governs how we plan, engineer, deliver, and operate.

Healthcare and payments are the two domains where architecture decisions are unforgiving compliance, auditability, data integrity, uptime. That's exactly why we need an architect who has done this before.

What You'll Own :

- The architecture of our healthcare and payment platforms. System design, service boundaries, data modeling, API contracts, and the non-functional requirements that actually decide whether a product survives security, scalability, observability, cost. You own the blueprint and the bar.

- HIPAA-grade and PCI-aware system design. PHI handling, audit logging, access controls, encryption at rest and in transit, tokenization and segregation for payment data. You design for the regulator and the auditor, not just the happy path.

- The MERN + cloud foundation. MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js as the core plus the cloud architecture (AWS / GCP / Azure) underneath : containers, orchestration, CI/CD, infra-as-code, secrets management, and the deployment topology that keeps a clinic or a payment flow up at 3am.

- Technical decisions with teeth. Build vs. buy. Monolith vs. services. Sync vs. event driven. Which third party to integrate and which to never touch. You make these calls with the evidence to back them and the credibility to defend them.

- Raising the engineering bar across products. Code review standards, reference architectures, reusable patterns, and the guardrails that let a fast-moving studio stay safe. You multiply every engineer around you.

- AI-native architecture and workflow. Our engineers ship with Claude Code and GitHub Copilot daily. You design systems that incorporate AI as a first-class component not bolted on at the end and you architect for a team that builds with AI in the loop.

- Mentorship and technical leadership. You'll grow senior engineers into leads. You set the technical direction others rally behind, and you do it through influence and demonstrated judgment, not org-chart authority.

What We're Looking For :

Non-negotiable :

- 8+ years building production software, with a real architecture or principal-engineer chapter you've owned system design end to end, not just contributed to it.

- Deep MERN expertise you can architect and go hands-on in Node.js and React without a handoff.

- Strong cloud architecture skills on at least one major provider networking, security, scaling, cost.

- Demonstrated experience designing systems in a regulated or high-stakes domain healthcare (HIPAA/PHI), payments (PCI-DSS), fintech, or similar.

- The judgment to make irreversible decisions and the communication to bring a team along with you.

- Accountability you own the outcome of your architecture in production, not just the diagram.

Strong plus :

- HIPAA / healthcare compliance in production audit trails, BAA-covered infrastructure, PHI access controls.

- Payment systems Stripe, Braintree, PCI-DSS environments, tokenization, reconciliation.

- Event-driven architecture, microservices, and high-availability system design.

- Experience in a multi-product, consulting, or venture-studio environment where context-switching is the norm.

- An AI-native development practice opinions on how AI changes architecture and delivery.

We don't care about :

- Certifications for their own sake. Show us the systems you've designed and what happened when they hit real load.
