Job Description

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead Full Stack (AI-Native) to lead the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications for a fast-growing online marketplace.

The role combines hands-on full-stack engineering, technical leadership, architecture ownership, AI-native development, and team management. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced product environment and leveraging modern AI-assisted development approaches to accelerate engineering productivity without compromising code quality, security, or reliability.

Immediate joiners are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-Stack Development:

- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of end-to-end web applications.

- Develop scalable backend services using Node.js, Express.js / NestJS, and TypeScript.

- Build modern and responsive frontend applications using React.js and Next.js.

- Design and develop secure, scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.

- Work with MongoDB and Redis for data management, caching, and performance optimization.

- Ensure seamless integration between frontend, backend, databases, third-party services, and APIs.

AI-Native Engineering:

- Drive adoption of AI-assisted and AI-native software development practices across the engineering lifecycle.

- Leverage AI coding assistants and agentic coding tools to improve development velocity, code quality, testing, and documentation.

- Explore and integrate AI/ML capabilities into marketplace products and engineering workflows.

- Work with AI/ML teams or product stakeholders to integrate intelligent features into applications where relevant.

- Evaluate emerging AI development tools, frameworks, and practices and identify opportunities for engineering productivity improvements.

Technical Leadership & Module Ownership:

- Provide technical leadership to a team of full-stack developers.

- Take co-ownership of critical product modules, ensuring quality, scalability, reliability, and timely delivery.

- Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.

- Mentor developers and establish strong engineering practices.

- Define development standards, coding guidelines, and reusable engineering patterns.

- Identify technical debt and drive continuous improvement.

Architecture & Scalability:

- Design scalable and resilient microservices and full-stack architectures.

- Define API design, service boundaries, data models, integration patterns, and application architecture.

- Ensure applications are designed for high availability, performance, scalability, and security.

- Evaluate architectural trade-offs and recommend appropriate technologies and solutions.

- Work closely with engineering leadership to define the technical roadmap.

Fast & Reliable Delivery:

- Drive fast deployment turnaround through effective development, testing, automation, and CI/CD practices.

- Improve engineering processes to reduce development and release cycle times.

- Ensure rapid delivery without compromising application security, reliability, or maintainability.

- Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to streamline release and deployment processes.

Infrastructure & Reliability:

- Work with DevOps and infrastructure teams to maintain application availability, performance, and uptime.

- Contribute to AWS architecture and cloud-native application design.

- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices.

- Troubleshoot production issues and lead root-cause analysis.

- Ensure applications are resilient and capable of handling increasing traffic and transaction volumes.

Engineering Quality & Security:

- Establish high standards for code quality, testing, security, and maintainability.

- Ensure secure development practices across APIs, applications, databases, and cloud infrastructure.

- Implement appropriate authentication, authorization, data protection, and API security mechanisms.

- Drive automated testing and continuous quality improvements.

- Review application performance and identify optimization opportunities.

Collaboration & End-to-End Delivery:

- Collaborate closely with Product, Business, QA, DevOps, Design, Data, and other engineering teams.

- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans.

- Own technical delivery from requirement analysis through development, deployment, and production support.

- Communicate project progress, technical risks, dependencies, and architectural decisions to stakeholders.
