Location : Thiruvananthapuram

Key Stakeholders : Engineering, RAMS, Cybersecurity, Verification & Validation, Independent Safety Assessors, Product Leadership

Nature of Work : Full-time, onsite role focused on SIL4 safety architecture, RAMS governance, and cybersecurity-integrated railway signalling systems

Position Overview :

Shaping SIL4 safety architectures where resilience, cybersecurity, and intelligent transport systems converge. This role will lead the end-to-end safety concept for Electronic Interlocking systems, driving compliance across RAMS, hazard analysis, cybersecurity integration, and international railway standards.


The mandate combines deep technical authority with strategic stakeholder leadership in highly regulated environments. The successful candidate will govern safety case development, coordinate with independent assessors, and align engineering teams around robust verification and validation frameworks.


The environment demands strong systems thinking, risk governance expertise, and the ability to influence complex technical programs with long-term operational impact.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and govern the safety concept for Electronic Interlocking platforms

- Lead SIL4 safety strategy, hazard analysis, and RAMS integration activities

- Drive alignment with international safety, cybersecurity, and risk management standards

- Own safety case development and engagement with Independent Safety Assessors

- Guide verification and validation strategy for safety evidence and compliance

- Facilitate cross-functional safety governance, workshops, and stakeholder reviews

- Mentor engineering teams on safety culture, assurance frameworks, and risk-based decision-making

Education & Experience Requirements :

- Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline

- Experience : 12+ years in safety-critical systems, railway signalling, or regulated embedded engineering environments

- Special : Strong exposure to SIL4 programs, RAMS governance, cybersecurity risk management, and international compliance frameworks preferred

Essential Skills & Competencies :

- Technical / Functional : EN50126/28/29, IEC 61508, IEC 62443, EN50159, RAMS, SIL4 safety concepts, hazard analysis, safety case management, cybersecurity-integrated safety architecture

- Leadership : Safety governance, stakeholder influence, ISA coordination, technical mentoring, cross-functional collaboration

- Behavioural / Cultural : Structured judgement, analytical rigour, communication clarity, resilience, accountability under complex regulatory environments
