About the Role :

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Bangalore R&D team and contribute to the development of high-performance embedded systems for next-generation smart energy and IoT products.

The role involves hands-on embedded Linux development, firmware architecture, system integration, debugging, and optimization across the complete product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain embedded software for Linux-based IoT and energy-management devices.

- Develop robust system-level and application-level software using C and C++, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

- Develop user-space applications and system services for Embedded Linux platforms.

- Work closely with hardware, firmware, electrical, QA, and product engineering teams to define software requirements and develop integrated solutions.

- Interface embedded applications with sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, communication interfaces, and other hardware components.

- Analyze system behavior, troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues, and perform root-cause analysis.

- Optimize software for memory utilization, CPU performance, boot time, communication reliability, and overall system stability.

- Develop and maintain software components for IoT-connected devices and contribute to secure device communication and data processing.

- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, code reviews, and software quality initiatives.

- Use debugging and development tools to diagnose issues across firmware, operating system, and application layers.

- Develop Python-based utilities and scripts for testing, diagnostics, automation, and system validation where required.

- Work with Git, Docker, build systems, debugging tools, and modern software development practices.

- Support software releases, production issues, field failures, and product maintenance activities.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical knowledge-sharing within the team.

Required Skills :

- Strong hands-on expertise in C and C++ programming.

- 10+ years of experience in embedded software or firmware development.

- Strong experience with Embedded Linux and Linux user-space application development.

- Experience developing software for resource-constrained and high-performance embedded systems.

- Strong understanding of operating-system concepts, processes, threads, IPC, memory management, and synchronization.

- Experience working with hardware interfaces, sensors, microcontrollers, and communication protocols.

- Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities across hardware and software layers.

- Experience with Git and modern software development tools.

- Working knowledge of Python for scripting and development support.

- Experience with Docker or containerized development environments is desirable.

- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, coding standards, testing, and code review practices.

- Experience in IoT, energy technology, power electronics, industrial devices, or other connected embedded products is an advantage.

- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
