Role Overview :

We are looking for a Python Automation Test Engineer with DataCom/Networking domain exposure to design and execute automated test suites for networking protocol products. The role requires strong scripting skills in Python (with working knowledge of Java), hands-on Selenium automation experience, and comfort working in Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using Python and Selenium.

- Execute functional, regression, and automation test cycles for DataCom/networking protocol features.

- Build and enhance reusable automation libraries and utilities, leveraging Java where required.

- Perform test execution, log analysis, and debugging within Linux/Unix environments.

- Work closely with development teams to understand protocol/feature requirements and define test coverage.

- Log, track, and retest defects through closure using standard defect-tracking tools.

- Contribute to test plans, test strategy, and automation roadmap for networking protocol validation.

- Report test progress, coverage, and quality metrics to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in automation testing using Python and Selenium.

- Working knowledge of Java for automation framework support and enhancements.

- Exposure to testing DataCom/Networking Protocols (e.g., routing, switching, L2/L3 technologies).

- Good working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments for test execution and debugging.

- Experience with test automation frameworks such as PyTest, unittest, or TestNG.

- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC/STLC, and defect management processes.

- Strong scripting, debugging, and analytical skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with network test/traffic-generation tools such as Ixia or Spirent.

- Exposure to CI/CD integration of automated test suites (Jenkins, GitLab CI).

- Familiarity with API testing and performance/load testing concepts.

- Basic scripting in Bash/Shell for test environment setup.

Educational Qualification :

- B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
