Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software QA Tester with strong expertise in BIOS, firmware, and platform validation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating BIOS/FW features, performing root-cause analysis, and ensuring high-quality platform releases across Windows and Linux environments. This role requires close collaboration with development teams to drive issue resolution and improve overall firmware quality.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute validation plans for BIOS, firmware, and platform-level features.

- Perform manual and automated validation of boot flows, power management, security, platform interfaces, and firmware functionality.

- Validate critical firmware domains including UEFI, ACPI, Security, Power Management, and OS boot flows.

- Analyze failures using logs, debug tools, crash dumps, and system traces to identify root causes.

- Support platforms bring-up activities and firmware feature validation across multiple hardware platforms.

- Validate driver and firmware behavior across OS, kernel, and software updates.

- Develop and maintain validation scripts and automation tools using Python and Shell scripting.

- Work closely with BIOS/Firmware development teams to debug issues and drive timely resolution.

- Document findings, track defects, and provide clear validation reports.

- Participate in cross-functional reviews, triage discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills:

- 58 years of experience in BIOS, Firmware, or Platform Validation.

- Strong hands-on experience with BIOS/Firmware validation in Windows and/or Linux environments.

- Good understanding of UEFI, ACPI, Security, Power Management, and platform bring-up.

- Experience with low-level debugging, failure analysis, and hardware validation.

- Familiarity with Linux kernel fundamentals, device trees, and driver architecture.

- Proficiency in analyzing system logs, crash dumps, and debugging tools.

- Experience with test management and defect tracking systems.

- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

- Automation experience using Python, Shell scripting, or Batch scripting.

- Exposure to post-silicon validation and embedded platforms.

- Knowledge of AI-assisted testing or automation techniques.
