Role Overview:

As a Software Engineer at The News Keeper, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our core platform and related services. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions that enhance the user experience and drive business growth. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact product used by millions, shaping the future of news consumption.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and testable code for our core platform and related services, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our users.

- Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate user stories and requirements into technical specifications and implement innovative features that meet user needs.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our engineering practices and standards, ensuring code quality and maintainability across the team.

- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, working closely with operations and support teams to minimize downtime and ensure a seamless user experience.

- Contribute to the design and architecture of new features and services, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development, and proactively identify opportunities to improve our platform and processes.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable software solutions.

- Proven experience in at least one of the following programming languages : Java, Python, Go, or similar.

- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- 2 - 15 years of experience in software development.
