Software Engineer - Java/Python

Job Overview :

We are looking for a technically strong Software Engineer to join our Engineering team on a 12-month contract.

The role focuses on backend development, robust test automation, and advanced system-level debugging.

The ideal candidate is a polyglot programmer who is comfortable working independently and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Key Roles & Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain backend logic for scalable applications

- Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium

- Perform system-level debugging, including process triaging, memory usage analysis, and network issue troubleshooting

- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and ensure reliable API integrations

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, document, and resolve technical issues

- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, refactoring, and documentation

- Maintain clean code practices and version control using Git

Technical Skills & Requirements :

- 4+ years of experience in backend development and test automation

- Proficiency in at least two programming languages : Node.js, Java, Python, or C#

- Strong understanding of automation testing frameworks and testing methodologies

- Hands-on experience with REST APIs and HTTP protocols

- Strong debugging skills related to memory leaks, performance, and network layers

- Advanced working knowledge of VS Code and debugging tools

- Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted coding tools

- Proficiency with Git version control systems
